What happens when you call

Calling can feel harder than staying silent. It helps to know what the call is, and what it is not. CIPUH is a listening and psychological support line. You will not be charged. You do not have to give your name.

Who answers

A trained First Listener answers. They will ask how you are and what is happening right now. You can speak in the language that is easiest for you. You can pause, cry, or say very little. There is no script you have to perform.

What they can do

They help you get through the moment, sort what is urgent from what can wait, and look at support around you. If you are in immediate physical danger, they will help you think about safety and emergency care. The call is confidential.

The number is 2919-9000, free and open 24/7. You can call for yourself, or because you are worried about someone else.
